What is PA-Physician Assistant?.

Physician assistants (PA) are health professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician super-vision.With in the physician/PA relationship, PA exercise autonomy in medical decisilon making and provide a broad range of diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive, and health maintenance servies.The clinical role of the PA includes primary and specialty care in edicine and surgical practice settings. PA practice is centered on patient care and may also include educational, research and administra-tive activity. The role of the PA demands intelligence, sound judgement, intellectual honesty, appropri-ate interpersonal skills, and the capacity to react to emergencies in a calm and reasoned manner.An attitude of respect for self and others, adherence to the concepts of privilege and confildentiality in communicating wit patients, and a commitment to the patient's welfare are essential attributes.
