Dr. Nasim Fazel is a distinguished board-certified dermatologist with over 20 years of experience in general and cosmetic dermatology. After completing dental school at Northwestern University, she went on to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Fazel is a graduate of the University of Michigan and completed her residency training at the Henry Ford Health Department of Dermatology, one of the top dermatology programs in the country.
During her 18-year tenure in academia as Professor and Vice Chair at UC Davis, Dr. Fazel served as the residency program director, overseeing the training of dermatology residents. She has an extensive background in clinical research, having authored over 50 publications, and is the sole editor for the medical textbook "Oral Signs of Systemic Disease". Dr. Fazel is also the founding director of the HIV lipodystrophy clinic at UC Davis, focused on treating patients with Sculptra to improve their facial esthetics and help them regain their confidence to lead healthy social lives.
Dr. Fazel is passionate about philanthropy having served on the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for graduating high school students in Kenya. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and pursuing new interests such as mountaineering.
